A genre of science fiction/horror (theme) and is the literary sister genre of cyberpunk, focusing on the use of biological technology and its effects on society. Usually very "meaty" in style with grotesque imagery, raw sexual motif, guro, living clothes, tentacles, exposed muscle and body horror being common visual staples. With the intention to fascinate the viewer with the exotic yet familiar imagery and make them feels uncomfortable at the same time.
