They are the result of organic or artificial beings (people, animals, machines, etc.) becoming corrupted from prolonged exposure inside a Hollow. While they vary greatly in appearance, they most often have black bodies accented with glowing neon-green segments, and a mix of organic and crystalline parts. All Ethereals have a single black sphere which serves as their core; humanoid Ethereals usually have this sphere in place of a head.
