A container with a handle and large open mouth designed for pouring drinks into a cup or a drinking glass. A small pitcher used to hold condiments is a creamer (vessel). Not to be confused with a jug (bottle), which has a narrow opening. The vessel called a jug in British English is called a pitcher in American English.
