Leucojum, commonly known as snowbell or snowflake, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Amaryllidaceae. There are only two species, the summer Leucojum aestivum and the spring Leucojum vernum. Snowbells produce white, nodding, bell-shaped flowers. The flowers are six-petaled with a green or yellow spot at the tip of each petal. Leucojum vernum usually produces one (rarely two) flowers per stem, while Leucojum aestivum produces three, five or seven. Each flower grows on a separate stem called a pedicel, which is attached to the main stem.
