A type of turret designed to be mounted on a ground military vehicle, often but not exclusively a tank. Tank turrets are generally compact and low profile, smaller than naval turrets, typically seating one to three crew members. The single main gun or cannon is usually centrally-mounted and of small or medium-caliber, often 20-125mm. May also feature additional coaxial or top-mounted armament, mostly machine guns but occasionally smaller cannons.
