The USS Arizona (BB-39) was the second and last of the Pennsylvania-class battleships built for the United States Navy. The ship was laid down in 1914 and commissioned two years later in 1916. Arizona is infamously known as one of only two battleships permanently lost to the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, and the only one that was completely destroyed.
